School Early Releases, Closings, or Delays

In the event of inclement weather or other reason to close, delay or release school early, the ICS President will confer with the COO and determine whether school should release early, delay opening or close altogether. Once a decision is made and confirmed by the COO, the following steps will occur:

The President will -

• Contact K-8 and HS Heads of School
• Contact parents on most recent e-mail database
• Update the ICS website
• Update the K-8 phone system

The COO will –

• Contact local media to post information on the air and on their websites (stations contacted will be WTHR (13), WRTV (6), WISH (8), WXIN (Fox 59) and WIBC (FM 93.1)
• Ensure that snow removal contracts are in place to automatically remove accumulation
• Contact security to make certain they monitor news media and inform their own officers, and contact food services

The K-8 Head of School will –

• Contact the K-8 Staff

The HS Head of School will –

• Change the HS phone system
• Contact HS staff
