ICHS Clean-up Day
As you know, we have some work to do on our remaining classrooms as we prepare the building for next year. It would be a big boost if we could get some help clearing them out and cleaning them up. CLEAN-UP CALL!!! We need help Saturday, May 17th, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. If you have some extra brooms, mops, etc., those would be helpful, too. We’re also planning on tearing out a sub-standard office area in one room, so crowbars would come in handy. And what is better after a hard morning’s work than food? NWEA Testing
ICHS students have started their Spring NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) tests. This is the final test session of the year. We have worked to encourage students to come prepared and do their best so we can get useful data to help guide individual instruction and even future class selection. If you have any questions about this assessment, please contact Mr. Simnick.
On behalf of the staff, The Signal wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all families who participated in Teacher Appreciation Week. From the sweets and treats and the warm meals, to the coverage in class, the notes, donations, and first-class lunch on Friday, organized by PAC at the home of Blade Hauth, the teachers and staff at ICHS appreciate your kindness and will keep working hard to serve you and your students.
Save the Date for College Night
The second evening of the Parent College Night series is approaching. On May 15 at 6:30 p.m. David Murray of the National Center for College Costs will return for a second workshop on preparing for college admissions and finding the financial resources to attend. You will receive a postcard and/or phone call if Mr. Murray would like to meet individually with you to review your College Cost Estimator. Otherwise, all are invited to attend this informative and important evening. If you missed the first session, you are strongly encouraged to attend the second.
PAC Elections
Also on Thursday, May 15, PAC will hold its regular meeting. This meeting, however, will include the election of officers to the PAC board. Please attend to vote on PAC leadership for the upcoming year, and stay for College Night!
Track Uniforms Returns
Track/Field Athletes need to return their uniforms to Coach Withem by Friday, May 23. Uniforms need to be cleaned before returning. Athletes will be charged for uniforms that are lost or not returned.
Guitar Hero Tourney
Parents and students alike are hooked on this interactive video game. On Friday, June 6, ICHS and PAC will hold a Guitar Hero Tournament fundraiser to raise money for the student lounge. A flyer/entry form is available at the front desk. So practice your best licks, sign up, and get ready to rock!
