Along with partnering with parents in stewarding their children's educational development, the ICS encourages parents to work with us as volunteers.
IPA offers a rigorous academic program with a focus on individual results and achievement.
Our goal with the clubs is for children to engage one another with shared interests in subjects outside of the curriculum they experience throughout the school day.
To ensure a successful educational experience for our students, ICS has established these dress codes and policies.
ICMS students enjoy numerous engaging opportunities to expand their horizons both inside and outside the classroom.
ICMS opened its doors in 2010, providing students a sense of pride in and ownership of their middle school.
In addition to courses like Math and Science, we also teach our students how to be responsible individuals.
The ICMS Athletics Program emphasizes the development of the complete athlete through conditioning, team play, and sportsmanship.
Irvington Community Middle School provides a challenging and engaging curriculum for all students. Students receive individualized attention in a small-classroom environment that is optimal for learning.
As a public school, ICMS participates in the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+). We also use a second student progress assessment tool developed by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA). Three times per year, students are assessed for growth in the areas of Reading, English Language Usage, and Mathematics. The faculty uses the data from the NWEA to help students set goals and celebrate achievement.
Our teachers come from both traditional school of education programs and the newer Transition to Teaching program, which is focused on preparing persons interested in teaching as a second career or recent college graduates who have decided to embark on a teaching career. ICMS students benefit from this rich blend of traditional classroom expertise and those who bring their business experience and insight into the world of education. All teachers at ICMS utilize “Best Practices,” which are instructional strategies based on thorough research. We are very proud of the highly qualified ICMS teaching staff and their dedication to their students’ educational excellence.
