ICMS students enjoy numerous engaging opportunities to expand their horizons both inside and outside the classroom.
Irvington Community Middle School
ICMS opened its doors in 2010, providing students a sense of pride in and ownership of their middle school.
The Irvington Way: Be Respectful
In addition to courses like Math and Science, we also teach our students how to be responsible individuals.
School Pride: ICMS Athletics
The ICMS Athletics Program emphasizes the development of the complete athlete through conditioning, team play, and sportsmanship.
Clubs
ICMS offers a wide variety of enrichment clubs to our students during 3:35 - 4:1 p.m. Clubs are open to any student in grades 6-8 who is in good academic standing. Our goal with the clubs is for students to engage one another with shared interests in subjects outside of the curriculum they experience during the school day. This helps them grow intellectually, as well as experience group learning in a more casual setting with teachers and/or staff members who share the same "outside" interests as the students. Clubs also provide an excellent platform to improve students' collaborative skills. Further, students form new friendships and deepen existing ones by sharing involvement in extracurricular interests.
Each club may be held quarterly, per semester, or run throughout the entire year. Some examples of clubs that will be offered this year at ICMS are Yearbook, National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), Student Council (STUCO), Chess, Knitting, Run/Walk, Drama, Origami -- and many more!
