VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Along with partnering with parents in stewarding their children's educational development, the ICS encourages parents to work with us as volunteers.

Curriculum & Assessment

IPA offers a rigorous academic program with a focus on individual results and achievement.

CLUBS & PROGRAMS

Our goal with the clubs is for children to engage one another with shared interests in subjects outside of the curriculum they experience throughout the school day.

DRESS CODE & OTHER POLICIES

To ensure a successful educational experience for our students, ICS has established these dress codes and policies.

Iris Tea Room Manager Talks Tea to Etiquette and Manners for Men Club

Mrs. Harmeyer’s Etiquette and Manners for Men Club recently attended a "proper" tea at the Iris Tea Room on South Audubon Road just a few blocks from IPA. And there they held an Irvington Tea Party, a decidedly non-political cultural event.

Ms. Miranda Maureen Marsico, manager of the Iris Tea Room, enlightened the club about the variety of teas available and the uniquely beautiful china patterns associated with drinking tea. It was a delightful cultural experience! The club also browsed local artists' work, sampled confections and teas, and enjoyed sparkling conversation and an etiquette lesson. Thanks to the Iris Tea Room and Ms. Marisco for the generosity and insight in opening up the world of tea to our students!

The Etiquette and Manners for Men Club meets the first Wednesday of the month and also has occasional outings to practice and learn about etiquette. Our next outing is December 20th.  The club will be visiting a local art gallery and be given a tour and lesson on art appreciation.
