Academics

Irvington Community Elementary School (ICES) provides a challenging and engaging curriculum for all our students. Students receive individualized attention in a small-classroom environment that is optimal for learning.

As a public school, we participate in the Indiana Department of Education’s ILEARN and IREAD-3 assessments. We also use a second student progress assessment tool developed by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA), which focuses on student growth.

Our teachers come from both traditional school of education programs and the newer Transition to Teaching program, which is focused on preparing persons interested in teaching as a second career or recent college graduates who have decided to embark on a teaching career. ICES students benefit from this rich blend of traditional classroom expertise and those who bring their business experience and insight into the world of education. We are very proud of the high quality ICES teaching staff and their dedication to educational excellence.
