IPA Junior Piper Kelly competed in the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Youth Championships held in Guangzhou, China, November 7-13, 2016. Piper finished 5th in the Speed Climbing event. She was the top United States climber, setting a new U.S. record in her age category with a time of 9.46 seconds. Congratulations to Piper for her outstanding achievement. The IPA Ravens and all of the Irvington School Community are proud of her success! (And now that climbing has been approved as a sport for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Piper’s accomplishments in the sport may have only just begun!)
