Sports Physicals Needed to Participate in Volleyball Tryouts

Those Irvington Community School (ICS) and Irvington Preparatory Academy (IPA) students attending the 8th-12th grade volleyball tryouts next Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 3rd and 4th, must bring evidence of having had a sports physical in 2009. Tryouts will be held at the ICS Gym from 6-7 p.m. Players who do not bring their sports physical paperwork on Monday will not be allowed to participate. However, if they bring their paperwork on Tuesday, they may try out.

Sports physicals can be scheduled with the Howe Community Wellness Center (4900 Julian Avenue) and Hawthorne Community Wellness Center (8301 E. Rawles Avenue), both Learning Well facilities. The clinics will resume regular hours next week. Sports physicals are $15 each. For more information, contact Hawthorne Community Wellness Center at 532-3999 and Howe Community Wellness Center at 693-5585. Otherwise, please make arrangements with your child's medical provider.
