KIBI Workday Set for Thursday, May 15, 2008

This Thursday, May 15, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Inc. (KIBI) will be hosting approximately 100 volunteers from Eli Lilly and Company as part of Lilly's annual Day of Service here at ICS. This will be the third KIBI workday here at ICS in the past two years, as we continue our close relationship with KIBI in beautifying the school grounds.

A flyer will be sent home with students on Tuesday, reminding parents of the special workday. Weather permitting, students will be participating for approximately 45 minutes in the project. Students will not be required to wear their school uniform on Thursday. They should wear work clothes, as they will be assisting the Lilly volunteers in spreading mulch, cleaning out the wooded lot west of the gym, and helping with plantings and other landscaping activities.

ICS parents are welcome to volunteer! The workday is scheduled from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Volunteer parking will be in the western field adjacent to the school. We are also trying to arrange parking in the field on the southwest corner of Kitley and Julian. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Tim Mulherin, Client Services Manager, at 357-5359 x132 or . KIBI will equip volunteers with tools; you are encouraged to bring your own set of work gloves. We ask that parent volunteers pack a lunch if they will be here throughout the day. Water will be provided.
