Academics

Irvington Preparatory Academy’s curriculum is rigorous and demanding, as we are preparing students for post-secondary success. IPA focuses on providing educational activities and assessments that foster critical thinking – which is key to college and career success. IPA has high academic and behavioral expectations that will help develop students into lifelong learners and contributors to local and global communities.

Each IPA student is required to complete a course of study that includes the core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Foreign Language, along with courses in Art and Music. Additionally, Irvington Prep offers a variety of electives that encourage students to explore their areas of interest.

All students are encouraged to take at least one Advanced Placement or Dual-Credit course during their IPA career. Our AP course offerings include Government, Calculus, Psychology, and English. IPA offers Dual-Credit English, History, Biology, College Algebra, and Trigonometry through Ivy Tech, and Dual-Credit Spanish classes for years 3-5 through Indiana University-Bloomington. Students at Irvington Preparatory Academy are strongly encouraged to pursue the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma in order to best prepare for post-secondary study.
